A Little Clip Of A Little Bird
So I've been on my hols lately which means due to the weather I've been trapped inside getting a few DIY jobs done. But in between I've managed to start on this cartoon idea feature Maurice Petite and friends. Below are a couple of walk cycles to show how things are progressing. The blue bird (he has no name yet, suggestions welcome) doesn't flow properly.

New 3D Work
Regular viewers of my website and it's previous incarnations will know that I have been playing around with blender for sometime. Whilst I've attempted a few movies I really don't have the attention span to see it through so I've started producing illustrations instead.
Below you'll find some earlier examples but the top group of critters is the first one that has really been successful. I think this more to do with the imagery rather than the 3D skills.Tuesday 17 July 2007

Monkey Sliders
Came up with this new piece. Been thinking about using Afrcian/Asian Animals as a starting point for some time and came up with this for starters.
1) this little chap appeared in my sketchbook almost at random but it got me thinking. I liked the black body and lack of detail.
2) Is that his mum or his dad?
3) Cheeky critters. I really liked the lack of detail and the movement in this sketch.
4) I think the monkeys remind of the Chris Ware diagramatic Quimby comics.
5) Made a more details drawing ready for tracing in Illustrator.
6) The finish piece. I particularly like the brush styles on the elephant. I definately think this new style has a bit of life. Watch this space.

Science Of Dreams
This piece was created to be submitted on DontPanicOnline as an entry for their poster competition. It was created using Inkscape and The Gimp. The scene shows a standard character of mine whoe as yet has no name being lifted in a 'stream of dreams'. I was particularly pleased with the globes.
1) Pencil drawing
